Albertsons Coupon Policy

Albertsons promotes a coupon friendly shopping experience and encourages customers to participate in store, manufacturer and internet coupon use. The following policy guidelines are current, but Albertsons may change this policy at any time and policy changes may not be advertised. Coupon redemptions are subject to the policy in effect at time of redemption. The current policy information can be discussed with individual store management but is not posted in each store.

Coupons – Definition: Coupons are a form of tender to reduce an order total based on merchandise purchased. Retailers are not required by law to accept manufacturers’ coupon. Coupons can be in print and/or in electronic form, and may be integrated into the register systems where they are deducted automatically when all purchase requirements are met.

General Coupon Acceptance Guidelines:

·         Coupons are accepted in accordance to the stated requirements on the coupon at the time of purchase. These requirements include, but are not limited to: product type, flavor(s), size(s), quantities and minimum/maximum dollar purchase limits.
·         Coupons are intended for one time use and cannot be redeemed more than once.
·         Coupons have no cash value.
·         Albertsons only accepts original coupons and does not accept photocopied or reproduced coupons (including multiple prints of same series internet coupons).
·         Albertsons does not accept expired coupons. Printed expiration dates are verified in addition to scanning the coupon for validity.
·         Coupons stating “on next/future purchase or visit” cannot be used in the transaction in which they are generated. Next purchase is defined as a separate transaction.
·         The coupon redemption value on ‘Free’ coupons may not exceed the value of the item.
·         Albertsons will accept ONE manufacturer coupon and ONE store coupon on the same qualifying item.
·         Albertsons does not accept competitor coupons. (Coupons generated by any competitor with competitor logo are considered competitor coupons.)
·         All applicable sales taxes are paid by the customer at the full value of the item.
·         Albertsons reserves the right to refuse any coupons at its discretion.

Manufacturer Coupons
·         Coupons issued by manufacturers contain redemption guidelines including, but not limited to: “terms of agreement”, “face value”, “expiration date” and the verbiage “manufacturer coupon”. Albertsons adheres to all manufacturer redemption guidelines.
·         Albertsons may issue private promotion “manufacturer coupons” in advertisements that state “redeemable only at Albertsons” in which Albertsons is the only retailer that will accept.
·         Coupons that exceed the retail value of an item will be adjusted to provide the maximum value, not exceeding the price of the item
·         Albertsons accepts internet generated manufacturer coupons that have the following conditions:
o   Coupons must scan at checkout.
o   Coupons must have serial numbers and follow an industry-standard format.
o   Coupons must clearly indicate that they are a manufacturer coupon and have a valid manufacture address on the printed coupon.
·         Albertsons does not accept internet generated manufacturer coupons that have the following conditions:
o   FREE product without a required purchase.
o   A redemption value that exceeds $5.00.
o   The absence of a clear and scannable UPC bar code.
o   Same serial numbers (internet sites print time & date stamps on coupons and limit the number of coupons that can be printed from same computer).
o   The absence of a valid manufacturer address on the printed coupon.

We will accept coupons printed from the internet for qualifying purchases.  However, they must meet the following conditions:
·         ‘Free’ product offers require a purchase
·         Redemption value not to exceed $5
·         UPC bar code must be present
·         Photocopied internet coupons. Most internet sites will print a time and date stamp on the coupons, and limit each ISP address to two coupons total. If multiple coupon have the same time and date stamp this could be an indicator the coupon was photocopied, and should not be accepted. This is not a policy of the store but rather a means to prevent coupon fraud.

Store Coupons

·         Rain checks for store coupons will be given out as long as the store coupon does not state on it “while supplies last”.
·         Coupons issued by Albertsons contain redemption guidelines including, but not limited to: “terms of agreement”, “face value”, “expiration date” and the verbiage “store coupon”.
·         Albertsons offers store coupons in various forms of media including, but not limited to, print, electronic, newspaper, direct mailers, kiosks and Company websites.
·         Albertsons may issue “store coupons” in advertisements that state “redeemable only at Albertsons” in which Albertsons is the only retailer that will accept.
·         Store coupons may require that the discount applies only with Preferred/Loyalty/Rewards Card use.
·         Twice the Value store coupons can only be used in combination with a $1.00 or less manufacturer coupon (a printed face value of $1.01 or greater cannot be combined with Twice the Value store coupons).
o   Albertsons DOES allow manufacturer coupons that state they cannot be ‘doubled’ to be used in conjunction with a Twice the Value store coupon.

The Total Shopping Experience

·         In an effort to serve our all customers better than our competitors, and provide a timely checkout, Albertsons requests that customers do not exceed three (3) consecutive transactions.
·         Additional lanes will be opened to serve all customers in a timely manner if the current business and staffing level permits.

Twice the Value Coupon Guidelines

From time to time we will provide Twice The Value (TTV) coupons to our customers. These are done on a promotional basis and are not announced in advance for competitive reasons.
Twice The Value (TTV) store coupons can only be used in combination with a $1.00 or less manufacturer coupon (a printed face value of $1.01 or greater cannot be combined with Twice the Value store coupons).
We accept “Do not Double” manufacturer coupons with our Twice The Value (TTV) coupons as long as they meet the other redemption requirements.
Twice the Value (TTV) coupons are store coupons. TTV are NOT to be paired/accepted with another store coupon on an item
For example: Cheese is listed as $3.99 on an in ad store coupon. Customer can use a manufacturer coupon with this, but NOT a TTV coupon

Fred's Coupon Policy

Fred’s Double Coupon Program
(These rules apply to all company-owned, participating Fred's stores.)

Manufacturer Coupon: A manufacturer coupon is a coupon for cents-off or dollars off a product, that the customer obtains from newspapers, magazines, direct mailings, etc. It is valid at any Fred’s store that the specific item featured on the coupon is sold.

A valid coupon will have the product description, cents off amount, expiration date, and an address to send the coupon for redemption.
Fred’s Procedures
  1. Fred’s will only accept manufacturer’s coupons that feature items that we carry. (No competitor’s coupons are to be accepted) The item featured on the coupon must be the exact item that we sell, or we do not accept the coupon. The item must be the same brand, style, flavor, scent, size specified by the coupon.
  2. Fred’s will not accept Internet coupons, whether they are printed in color or black and white.
  3. All valid manufacturer’s coupons are accepted at face value at Fred’s every day.
  4. On Saturdays only, Fred’s will double the face value of manufacturer coupons up to $.70; $.70 coupons are doubled. (ONLY 1 coupon per identical item is doubled, per customer, per Saturday)
  5. No money will be returned for coupons that exceed the price of the product. If doubling the face value of the coupon would exceed the price of the item, the coupon will be accepted a face value.
  6. Tobacco coupons are not doubled regardless of the face value of the coupon.
  7. Coupons, which are expired, are not accepted. If the coupon is presented the day it expires, the coupon must be accepted.
  8. Coupons, which offer “free” product, and do not require the purchase of additional items, will not be accepted. “Buy one get one free” coupons are accepted.
  9. If the price of an item is matched with a competitor, then no coupons will be doubled for that particular item.

Winn Dixie Coupon Policy

  Winn-Dixie has a coupon acceptance policy that follows all guidelines and stipulations printed on manufacturer’s coupons. We follow all state and local governance of coupons that are received from any type of print, as long as they are not produced with a fraudulent intent. All manufacturer coupons are acceptable with our in store offerings if they are within the guidelines of the coupon.

We honor our store coupons that are within date of redemption and do not have a company program that honors competitors store coupon offerings.

At this time Winn-Dixie does not have a company-wide doubling/tripling coupon program.  It is offered in selected areas as part of our competitive strategy.

We continue to evaluate coupon usage as a consumer vehicle of savings and support the use of coupons in our stores.

Kmart's Coupon Policy

Email received from K-Mart representative  8/21/2011

Thank you for your recent correspondence. We are always interested in
hearing from our customers. Thank you for your interest in using
internet coupons at our Kmart stores.

Kmart does accept secure print-at-home coupons.

Kmart's Print-at-Home Internet Coupon Acceptance Policy
Effective March 1, 2009 , Kmart will accept industry-standard, secure
print-at-home coupons. This will provide additional benefits and
incentives to our customers to help them save their money at Kmart.

Due to the continuing shift in utilizing online facilities, allowing the
redemption of print at home coupons is becoming a larger more important
aspect to the budget wise customer. But there is a significant risk in
fraudulent alerted coupons. It is critical that the following guidelines
be understood and followed to identify coupons that will not be accepted
by the Kmart register operators.

Kmart can only accept print-at-home coupons if they scan properly at
checkout.
Legitimate printable coupons are delivered using special software
designed to print a properly rendered barcode on the coupon and limit
the number of coupons printed. If the coupon dos not scan properly it
cannot be accepted

Kmart will not accept coupons for more than about 75% of a product's
value.
For example, a $2 off coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 is
unlikely to be legitimate. If there are exceptions, Kmart is usually
provided advance notice by the manufacturer.

Coupons will be rejected if they appear distorted or blurry, altered in
any way, or are obvious duplicates.

Kmart will not accept " FREE product" (no purchase required)
print-at-home coupons.
It is currently an industry practice not to produce print-at-home
manufacturer's coupons for free product. Buy-one-get-one-free coupons
and other values that have a purchase requirement are acceptable.

(regarding the coupon double value event) This event is for select participating Kmart locations from 08/21/11 to 08/27/11.

Kroger employees or partners are prohibited to set up or otherwise maintain an online account not specifically associated to that employee or employee household.

A valid shopper card or an alternate ID is required for the use of digital coupons at the time of purchase.

Digital coupons and offers are deducted from a customer purchase prior to paper coupons or any other discounts and cannot be added back or removed once card has been scanned.
  • Limit one use per digital coupon per transaction
  • Digital offers cannot be combined with manufacturer paper coupons on the purchase of a single item
  • Digital offers do not double
  • A limit of 150 coupons can be loaded per household at one time
The store manager has the right to accept, decline, or limit the use of ANY digital coupon or offer.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The following is an email received from a Kroger representative on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 4:40 PM
Dear Ms. Stelly:
Thank you for contacting Kroger. Our coupon policy varies by division. The policy for stores in your area is as follows. Please note that this policy is our most current; however it is subject to change without notice.
The store manager has the right to accept, decline or limit the quantity of coupons or items used or purchased in a single transaction, by a single customer, or in a single day.
Double Coupons:
o Manufacturer coupons of $0.50 or less will be "doubled".
o Manufacturer coupons of $.39 or less will be "tripled".
o Manufacturer coupons over $.51 will be redeemed at face value.
o Limit one (1) coupon per household for each "like" item will be "doubled/tripled".
Pharmacy Coupons:
o Competitor pharmacy coupons are accepted.
o LCM or Competitor Coupons may not be used in conjunction with our $4 Generic Program.
General Coupon Policy:
o Coupons are redeemed for face value unless otherwise advertised at your local Kroger store
o Coupons must be presented at the time of transaction
o Coupons may only be redeemed for items, brands, and sizes specified by the verbiage requirements of the coupon
o We accept all valid current manufacturer coupons
o We accept valid, current online, internet and print-at-home coupons
o We accept all valid, current Catalina Manufacturer coupons and Kroger Catalina coupons
o Limit one (1) manufacturer coupon per item purchased.
o Limit one (1) store coupon per item purchased.
o One (1) manufacturer and One (1) store coupon can be used on the same item.
o If a Manufacturer coupon exceeds the price of the item, the excess will be applied to the basket purchase. If excess is greater than amount due on the total order after the coupons are redeemed, the excess will be given in cash.
o WIC or SNAP items in a WIC or SNAP transaction are ineligible for cash back or application to the basket purchase
o Coupons cannot be used on "free" items.
o Expired coupons are not accepted.
o We do not accept competitor coupons (including competitor Catalina Coupons)
o Amount refunded cannot exceed the cost of the item.
o Coupons may not be applied to items restricted by law. Coupons may not be applied to services such as but not limited to gift cards, money orders, utility payments, postage stamps, event tickets, lottery or phone cards.
o Sales taxes will be applied in accordance with the law of the applicable state, regardless of any coupon or other discount that may apply to the purchase transaction
PRINT-AT-HOME (PAH) COUPONS:
o We only accept printable coupons if they scan properly at checkout.
o We do not accept "free product" printable coupons that have no purchase requirement.
> Buy-one-get-one-free coupons and other values that have a purchase requirement are acceptable but will be MUCH less common than traditional value-off coupons.
o We do not accept coupons for more than about 75% of a product's value without advance notice.
> Legitimate PAH coupons will not be for a high value relative to the cost of the item. For example, a $2.00 off coupon will be acceptable for a product that normally sells for $5.00 or more, but a $2.00 off printable coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 is unlikely to be legitimate.
o Coupons will be rejected if they appear out of proportion or blurry, or are obvious duplicates.
o Legitimate PAH coupons are never copied, sold, or traded. Nearly all coupons are "non-transferable," meaning they should not be photocopied or scanned and distributed to others.
o Coupons will be rejected if they appear to have been altered in any way.
PAH coupons can be checked for validity at: http://www.printcoupons.com
Save-A-Lot Coupon Policy
Regarding Save-A-Lot's Coupon Policy, we operate over 800 independent licensed stores, so each store tends to have its own coupon policy.  Your best bet is to contact the store and ask about their exact coupon policy and they’ll be more than happy to clarify.
Corporately we try and accept internet and manufacturer’s coupons (one per item), we do NOT double, but your best bet for the most up-to-date info is always to contact the local store.
Fred’s Coupon Policy
A manufacturer's coupon is a coupon for cents off, which customers obtain from newspapers, magazines, internet, direct mailings, etc. It is valid at any Fred's store that carries the specific item featured on the coupon. Coupons that have been copied or reproduced will not be accepted. This includes black and white, as well as color copies. Coupons that offer "Free" products will be accepted. Buy one, get one free coupons are accepted.
1. Fred's will only accept manufacturers' coupons that feature items that we carry. (No competitors' coupons are to be accepted.) The item featured on the coupon must be the exact item that we sell, or we do not accept the coupon. The item must be the same brand, style, flavor, scent, or size specified by the coupon.
2. All valid manufacturers' coupons are accepted at face value at Fred's everyday.
3. ON SATURDAYS ONLY Fred's will double the face value of manufacturers' coupons up to 70 cents. 70 cent coupons will be doubled. (ONLY 1 coupon per identical item is doubled; ONLY 1 identical coupon will be doubled per customer per Saturday.) For Example: A customer may purchase 4 tubes of Crest toothpaste; if they have more than one coupon for the toothpaste, the first coupon will be doubled and the additional coupons will be taken at face value. If the customer wishes to purchase more than one flavor of an item and the coupon lists a variety of flavors, only one identical coupon will be doubled and the additional coupons will be taken at face value.
4. No money will be returned for coupons that exceed the price of the product.
5. Tobacco coupons cannot be doubled regardless of the face value of the coupon.
6. Coupons that are expired ARE NOT accepted. If the coupon is presented the DAY it expires, the coupon will be accepted.
Super 1 Foods Coupon Policy
Brookshire Grocery Company stores accept legitimate manufacturer and store coupons subject to the guidelines provided below.
Coupons must be presented at the time of purchase.  Coupons cannot be redeemed for cash at a later date.
Cashiers will accept coupons subject to the requirements provided on the coupon such as expiration date, size, and limits.
Coupons will not be accepted without the purchase of the item(s) required by the coupon.
Coupons cannot be redeemed for an amount greater than the purchase value of the item.
Only one manufacturer coupon may be redeemed for each item purchased.
All coupons must have a barcode and will be scanned.
Doubling and tripling of coupons will be offered on a store by store basis as determined by Brookshire Grocery Co.
Internet and other Printable Coupons may be accepted for amounts up to 75% of the item’s purchase price.  Please refer to the "Printable Coupon Acceptance Policy" for more information and additional requirements.
Any item returned for a refund will be refunded for the actual price paid.  The value of any coupon used to purchase the item will not be refunded.
Management has the right to refuse any coupon or to limit quantities.
Printable Coupon Acceptance Policy
BGC stores will only accept legitimate Printable Coupons.  BGC employees and customers are asked to help in the prevention of coupon fraud commonly found on the internet, through emails and social networks, by using the following guidelines.
Printable Coupons must have a valid barcode and scan properly at the register.  Printable Coupons are delivered using special software, designed to print a properly rendered barcode and limit the number printed.  Printable Coupons contain unique numbers provided to BGC in advance.  Our systems are programmed as needed to accept legitimate Printable Coupons that are scanned.
Printable Coupons may not exceed 75% of a product's retail price. For example, a $3 off coupon will be accepted for a product that sells for $4 or more, but a $3 off Printable Coupon for a product that sells for less than $4 will not be accepted.
Printable Coupons for "FREE product" (i.e., no purchase required) will not be accepted. It is an industry standard not to produce Printable Coupons for free products.  However, buy-one-get-one-free coupons and other similar Printable Coupons that have a purchase requirement are acceptable.
Legitimate Printable Coupons are sent directly to a printer after clicking on a link in a web browser or email. They will not appear on your computer screen, or be sent as a graphic or PDF, or be in a Word document. Consumers should print the coupon directly from the website or email that is offering it to ensure the coupon is legitimate.
Legitimate Printable Coupons are never copied, sold or traded. Nearly all coupons are “non-transferable” meaning they should not be photocopied or scanned and distributed to others. Legitimate coupons are never sold and you should not pay for someone’s “time to clip” or other service fee.
Printable Coupons may be rejected if they appear out of proportion or blurry, or are obvious duplicates. Management reserves the right to limit Printable Coupon quantities and to refuse any Printable Coupon.
For customer convenience, Printable Coupons can be validated at http://www.veri-fi.com.
CVS Coupon Policy
CVS does not have their coupon policy published anywhere online :( This is a generic email that several other bloggers have received in response to requests for official coupon policies.
Thank you for contacting CVS/pharmacy. Your e-mail has reached the Customer Relations Department. We appreciate the time you took to contact us with your inquiry. Our coupon policy is not available on our Web site.
We reserve the right to change this policy at any time.
Our registers are set to allow 1 CVS coupon and 1 manufacturer coupon per item. Free coupons or “offers at the register” (OAR’s) are unearned and issued to you as a valued member of the CVS/pharmacy ExtraCare program. These coupons take the form of “open ended” coupons such as $3 off $15 or a certain dollar amount off a specific item. In any given transaction our registers will allow only one “open ended” coupon per transaction. CVS Extra Buck coupons are earned when you make a qualifying purchase. These print out instantly at the register upon reaching the threshold for the offer. You can use more than one Extra Buck coupon provided the purchase threshold has been met for each offer amount on a per-transaction basis.
In the case where a particular item is on sale for “buy one get one free” (BOGO), you are only allowed to use one manufacturer’s BOGO coupon. For instance, if Revlon lipstick is on sale for BOGO, you can use one manufacturer’s BOGO coupon. You would get both items free and pay any applicable tax. We reserve the right to limit quantities after the first purchase. If our store is running a sale for BOGO, you can use two manufacturer’s coupons for a specific dollar amount off. For example, if Revlon lipstick is on sale at our store for BOGO, you can use two $1.00 off Revlon lipstick manufacturer coupons.
CVS/pharmacy does accept manufacturers’ coupons that have been obtained from manufacturer sponsored and/or authorized Web sites. The coupon should be complete and contain a bar code that can be scanned at the register. If the coupon does not scan, the cashier should politely inform you that we cannot accept your coupon. We do not allow manual overrides at the register for coupons printed from the Internet. CVS/pharmacy will not accept offers printed from unauthorized Internet postings or reproductions, copies, or facsimiles.
We do not accept competitors’ coupons for front store items. We feel that our sales and ExtraCare program are comparable if not better than any sales or coupons offered by our competitors.
We also do not accept any expired coupons, CVS or otherwise.
We do not “double” or “triple” coupons.
